Dr. Marissa Garcia, DDS, MSc, Dip. Perio, FRCD(C) is a Certified Specialist in Periodontics and a leader in comprehensive periodontal and implant patient care. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Cayetano Heredia University in Peru, followed by specialty training in Periodontics and a Master of Science degree from the University of British Columbia, where she was awarded the Joseph Tonzetich Scholarship for research excellence.
Dr. Garcia serves the community through her private practice in periodontal and implant care and through her academic role at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry, where she is Director of Undergraduate Periodontics and a Clinical Assistant Professor. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a member of major periodontal professional organizations. In recognition of her contributions to teaching and mentorship in periodontics, she received the American Academy of Periodontology Educator Award.
