Dr. Shima is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a mother of two, which gives her a unique understanding of the patience and attention children require during dental visits. She emphasizes preventive care and adopts a conservative approach to treatment whenever feasible. After earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba in 2012, Dr. Shima practiced general dentistry for two years before pursuing specialized training in pediatric dentistry. She completed a three-year residency at the University of Manitoba, during which she also obtained a Master of Science degree focusing on pediatric dental trauma research. Dr. Shima is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
