Dr. Bobby Birdi is one of North America’s very few Certified Dual Specialists in Periodontics and Prosthodontics; and is also the first and only specialist in the world to attain Canadian and American board certifications in both Periodontics and Prosthodontics. He received his dental degree with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan and then pursued his postgraduate specialty training at the University of Minnesota in both periodontics and prosthodontics.
Dr. Birdi is a Fellow and former Examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Furthermore, he is the Past President of the Western Society of Periodontology (WSP) and the Vancouver District Dental Society (VDDS). Dr. Birdi has academic affiliations at the University of British Columbia and the University of Minnesota, where he is involved in teaching and research projects. He lectures both nationally and internationally on implant surgery, prosthetics, and digital dentistry. Dr. Birdi is the co-founder of the Digital Dentistry Institute, which is a global learning organization for his fellow dentists and one of the largest dental educational organizations in Canada.
